M-65 Field Jacket DSA100-71-C-6201
Description
The M-65 Field Jacket was first fielded by the U.S. Army in 1965 under specification MIL-C-43455B, replacing the earlier M-1951 model with a stand-up collar and zip-up hood to address monsoon-season conditions in Vietnam
It was constructed from a durable NYCO™ blend (50% cotton, 50% nylon) treated for wind and water resistance, making it a critical layer for soldiers operating in wet, tropical climates during the Vietnam War
By the early 1970s, the M-65 transcended military use, entering civilian wardrobes as a men’s military jacket staple and becoming a symbol of counterculture in the US and Europe
Today, it remains a fashion mainstay among streetwear and men’s tactical outerwear enthusiasts, thanks to its functional design and rugged aesthetic
Our approach to the M-65 jacket begins with faithful attention to original US-issue details—such as the four-pocket configuration, concealed hood, and epaulets—but deliberately evolves toward a more refined, urban tactical jacket suitable for EU commuters
Details
- Surface - high-density waterproof nylon
- Middle - foaming layer for warmth
- Bottom layer - sweat-wicking, breathable and thin nylon
- Let the cold wind no longer blow through your coat, and let the rain slide off your shoulders. The warm interlayer of the fabric itself provides you with a solid sense of security, and the luster and crispness come from the high-density weaving of high-quality silk threads
- Made with formal craftsmanship, the stitch density is twice that of the original product
- Customized SIMONS lining fabric with fine twill satin to increase the connotation
- Rope head LOGO blessing, adding a sense of luxury to the details
- YKK VISLON lightweight resin zipper
- The hooded material inside the collar is weakened, and it is more inclined to a stand-up collar effect to reduce the bloated feeling

The L-2 Flight Jacket, introduced circa 1945 under MIL-J-7448, succeeded the A-2 as the U.S. Air Force’s “Light Zone” standard garment.
It borrows the streamlined silhouette of the contemporaneous B-15B but adds snap-down pocket flaps, epaulets, and triangular hem tabs for enhanced utility and identity.
In 1954–55, the refined L-2B became the series’ final—and most enduring—iteration, spanning eleven specification updates from MIL-J-7448 through MIL-J-7448J, before yielding to later nylon and MA-1 designs.

Coats was founded by family members in Scotland in the 1750s.
In 1812, it launched a patented three-layer sewing thread with twisted cotton technology. It was listed in London in 1890 and merged into J.&P.Coats Limited in 1896. Its market value has reached more than 20 million pounds.
In the 20th century, it continued to expand globally and became a multinational company. As of 2017, Coats' market value has exceeded 1 billion pounds. In its nearly 300-year history, Coats sewing thread has always been the only choice in the field of professional clothing.
