Description
The history of the G-1 flight jacket dates back to the M-422, the standard mid-level flight jacket for the U.S. Navy, in the 1940s.
After twelve specification improvements, it was finally officially named the "G-1 Mid-Level Flight Jacket."
This G-1 jacket's design is inspired by the MIL-J-7823D (WEP) era, retaining classic military proportions while enhancing fabric quality.
It is made from genuine Stumont goatskin with a tea core reinforcement, featuring full wool ribbing and a natural wool collar, preserving naval tradition while offering a crisp structure, warmth, and durability.
Details
- Authentic Navy Heritage Pattern: Based on the evolution from M-422 to 55J14 and later MIL-J-7823D specifications. The pattern has been improved, including a full-length front flap vent, repositioning of the US Navy lettering perforations, corrected collar curvature, a redesigned collar flap vent, and optimized pocket flap curvature.
- Tea-Fill Stumont Goatskin (MIL-J-7823D Reference): Crafted from genuine Stumont goatskin, this pattern references the color scheme of the early 1960s ML-J-7823D, bringing it closer to the first-generation aesthetic. The tea-filled base allows the leather to develop a deeper texture and more pronounced contrast over time, creating a natural wear effect rather than an artificial distressing.
- Genuine Wool Collar and First-Generation Materials: A natural one-piece wool collar (combined fur and leather), custom-woven first-generation all-wool ribbing, contemporary stitching, upgraded zipper pulls, and a smooth rayon lining enhance comfort against the skin.
- Specialty-Level Details: A tea-core leather collar label, with unique size markings for each size. Each size corresponds to a unique stock number—a level of detail rarely seen, preserving the accuracy of the original while avoiding inflated pricing.
- Authentic Military Balance: This flight jacket is designed for moderate temperatures: a structured yet comfortable silhouette, warm without being bulky, with well-proportioned lines and a smooth waistline that beautifully outlines the upper body.

(Please note the different storage numbers for the different sizes in the left image. This kind of subtle distinction is currently very rare. It's just a small, original detail that adds interest and doesn't increase the price by a thousand yuan.)
STOUMONT GOATSKIN
Goat leather has many advantages: firmness of cowhide, softness of sheepskin, and retroness of deerskin. The only disadvantage is that it has a more obvious smell of sheep. This time, after several iterations of targeted development, we finally presented this retro goat leather without the smell of sheep.
The texture is thick and soft, the leather surface is full of grain, the pores are clear and without coating. It is not inferior to expensive deerskin in all indicators, and it has better wear resistance, becoming the preferred leather for retro style leather clothes.
Leather use and maintenance knowledge
- Leather/fur/textile products are consumables. Proper maintenance can extend their service life.
- When wearing it daily, you should pay attention to protecting the leather surface to prevent scratches by hard or sharp objects, and avoid contact with oil, acidic and alkaline substances
- Leather products are strictly prohibited from washing, tumbling and drying, and long-term exposure to the sun.
- If they are wet by rain or moisture, you can use a soft dry cloth to gently wipe off the surface water stains and dry them in a cool and ventilated place. Do not wear before it is completely dry
- Leather should not be rubbed with water or gasoline, as water will make the leather hard and gasoline will volatilize the oil in the leather and cause it to crack
- Natural fur/fur collar will have slight curls after long-term wearing or washing. Detergents may cause hair loss at some edges, so dry cleaning is recommended
- Colorless maintenance oil should be applied before changing seasons and storage to prevent leather aging and cracking. Before application, a small area should be tested on a hidden part to prevent discoloration caused by chemical reactions between maintenance oil and leather
- Store in a hanging position and do not fold or press heavily to prevent wrinkles on leather/fur
- Mothballs for mildew and insects should not come into direct contact with leather
