Cossack Leather Jacket
Description
A daring reproduction of the classic Cossack jacket pattern, updated with one of the rarest leathers available: naked, vegetable-tanned horsehide.
Short in length with broad upper arms, narrow waist, and trim cuffs, it creates a sharp and elegant profile.
This version adds lining and refined details, but leaves the leather raw and uncorrected — celebrating its natural imperfections and unmatched aging potential.
Details
This jacket draws inspiration from classic mid-20th-century Cossack style, emphasizing clean proportions: a short silhouette, a crisp front, and a refined collar.
Crafted from 1.3mm thick, fully vegetable-tanned horsehide, infused with fish oil and bark tannins. Undyed and uncoated, it retains its natural pores and texture, developing a deep and unique patina over time.
The wide upper arms taper towards the cuffs and waist, creating a tailored silhouette. It may feel slightly tight at first, but will gradually become more comfortable and form-fitting over time.
Trim: Light brown horn buttons, custom beige COATS stitching.
Lining: 8x8 ribbed corduroy, lined with beige twill nylon.
Additional interior pockets for practicality and convenience.
Each jacket is unique, its natural texture and ever-changing colors impossible to replicate.

Cossack natural leather Jacket (1930s)
The short, sharp silhouette of the 1930sCossack jacket. Broad upper arms, a narrowwaist, and slim cuffs, defined its clean andathletic profile.
Originally worn as everyday workwear andcasual attire, it bridged the gap betweentailored jackets and rugged outerwear.
Albert Einstein was known to favor this style, adding to its reputation as both intellectualand practical.
Reproduction Notes
This product retains the original silhouette but is crafted from rare, undyed natural horsehide, vegetable-tanned with fish oil, and only 1.3 millimeters thick. The leather retains its pores, texture, and natural markings—once considered flaws, now hallmarks of genuine leather.
For enhanced comfort and durability, the lining is fully lined and includes a practical inner pocket. Unlike coated leather, this retains its original texture: over time, it develops a rich patina, with each scar and hue telling its unique story.
This product is sourced from AAA-grade Polish horsehide, a standard met by only a select few. The result is uncompromising quality: a faithful recreation of the classic silhouette, paying homage to the leather itself with the most natural materials.
