MA-1 Flight Jacket Cotton Coat History

MA-1 Flight Jacket Cotton Coat History

The MA-1 series can be traced back to 1950.

It is a replacement model of the B-15 (D) series and took over the "INTERMEDIATE ZONE" temperature zone standard clothing.

The MA-1 series also basically continued the appearance design of the B-15 series, but completely cancelled the fur collar. 8279 is the first generation of MA-1, which appeared in 1955-57.

MA-1 has been updated for more than ten generations and continued to serve until the 1990s. The military specification numbers are MIL-J-8279 to MIL-J-8279G

Coats was founded by family members in Scotland in the 1750s.

In 1812, it launched a patented three-layer sewing thread with twisted cotton technology. It was listed in London in 1890 and merged into J.&P.Coats Limited in 1896. Its market value has reached more than 20 million pounds.

In the 20th century, it continued to expand globally and became a multinational company. As of 2017, Coats' market value has exceeded 1 billion pounds. In its nearly 300-year history, Coats sewing thread has always been the only choice in the field of professional clothing.
